"Florida Imperial" - SOLD

Daily Paintworks has come up with a really fun idea, it's called the "DPW Challenge". I noticed the challenge this morning and decided to give it a go. It was difficult for sure. I had fun though, and as usual I learned a thing or two. This painting was done from a photograph taken and posted by the amazing Carol Marine. I look forward to future challenges!

This is my favorite of the challenge so far. What a great way to discover new artists (I'm a devotee of Carol Marine and about to take one of her workshops). I love all the blog links on your blog, too. I'm just starting out in painting (at age 39!) and your style is very inspiring! I also love the SF views - I used to live on Vallejo at Gough a few years ago...

Thanks so much for the comment Charlotte! I actually started painting at the age of 38 (I'm 45 now), it's never too late! I had no art background at all. I just checked out some books from the library, bought some supplies and went for it. Good for you for taking a workshop with Carol. It would have been helpful for me if I had done that. You can learn so much, and have a fun too! Good luck with your painting and let me know if you start blogging!

Great job on the first challenge! I am hesitant to post my painting - after two wipe outs it still was a struggle. Your car is fantastic and I love the reflection.

Mike, saw your entry on DPW and wanted to pop over here to say well done. Enjoyed going through your work too. Happy painting!

Linda, I'm right there with you on the wipe outs. I spent three hours last night trying to paint some white cups. I wiped out twice and never did manage to make it work!

Thanks Anne, I look forward to seeing your post!

Hi Julie, thanks for stopping by I look forward to checking out your Blog!
