I made an adirondack chair once. I made it out of redwood. I know that's not very traditional but that's the wood of choice in California if you want something to last. It was a fun project, but these days I'd much rather paint pictures of them than build them. Gotta go, my daughter needs me to yank out her loose tooth!

Once again, love the simplicity and the shadows are fabulously painted.
Love the simplicity, I do blue chairs at a Retreat Center where I teach and the shapes and strong shadows you have with these is a compelling painting to look at. This is like WOW!
love thisk painting. wish i was sitting on on of those chairs in the sun now.
Whoa, go easy on the tooth :}
I love this and I it's the Island Inn on Monhegan if I'm not mistaken.
Great brushwork and edges. So simple but complete.
Thank you for all the kind comments!
Wow Mary you know your Maine!! I haven't stayed at the Island Inn, but I might someday just so I can sit in their chairs!
The tooth is out and the patient is drinking a smoothie! She told me to mention that she made the smoothie all by herself. It has apples, kiwis and lime juice in it. She admits it's not very good but it looks like she's going to finish it.
This is amazing. I left a comment on your daily painter's challenge then went to your blog. These are all great Compositions.
