"Pace Yourself" - SOLD

10x8" oil on canvas panel

Sometimes fate presents you with an opportunity too rare to pass up. That's exactly what happened to me while walking in San Francisco recently. I haven't seen an AMC Pacer in years, and this one was in perfect condition. It's not often you get a chance to paint the world's most ridiculed car. I'd love to hear some pacer stories in the comments. Rode to the prom in one? Dad drove you to school in one? It's time to vent! Tell that Pacer story you've kept hidden for so many years.

Oh. My. God. I LOVE this! A number of years ago there was a pristine light blue Pacer parked on the next block over from my house. I even inquired about purchasing it, but I was racing motorcycles at the time and couldn't spare the $4k. I watched the video and am glad to hear they are still out there should I wake up one day with the need to own one.

a glance at the sidebar told me that this was a Pacer. OMG.
A friend had one. The windows were so big all the way around and she used to call it a greenhouse. It got SO HOT INSIDE.

My Mom wanted a Pacer when they first came out, "The visibility would be GREAT and it would be like driving around in a fishbowl!" :)
