"Home"

7x5" oil on masonite

This will be my last small painting for a while. I'm feelin' the need to paint big.

Love the stripe of creamy light on the corner. Fun catching up with your blog. Interesting to hear some of your background, influences and insights. Thanks for sharing. What would we do without pandora? Will check out Matt Costa and report back.

Man, you really got that Bay Area light. Sparkling! Looking at it, I can just feel that great climate.

I've just discovered "Daily Painter" and your work as well - I had to tell you how much I love your paintings! I've been doing "a painting a day" since the beginning of January and your work inspires me so much!! The compositions are so engaging, the colors so fresh and clean. I too love the simple things. So thanks!

Mike,

Love the simplicity of this little painting~ the values and the shapes all come together nicely.

creates a warm memory for me of houses and neighbors in a time long ago.
