"Cross Wires" - SOLD

6x6" oil on Gessobord - $100

I shot this mainly for the bird but when I viewed it on the computer I was immediately drawn to the geometry of all the wires. This was a good opportunity to walk the line between representation and abstraction.

Wonderful and creative, I would never have picked out this subject matter but I love it.

I saw it as an abstraction first and next I found the bird..then the whole painting becomes exactly what it is. Wonderful piece.

This is great! The texture of the light sky makes the wires read as negative space, which reverses our normal idea of reality.

I keep looking at this image. I absolutely love the brushwork and how simple it is, but at the same time giving enough information so we know exactly what we're looking at. It looks as if you painted the sky last. Nice technique - I don't think it would be nearly as interesting if you had just painted the power lines on top of a flat background. Great painting!
