"Green Triumph" - SOLD

6x8" oil on hardboard

I've been feeling the need to experiment. One thing I love about daily painting is that it motivates me to try new things. For me that's what keeps it exciting. I recently shot a bunch of photographs from unusual viewpoints where the perspective is really exaggerated. I worked fast on this one which I think helped me focus on the abstract and not get bogged down in detail.

This is my 100th post!

Great job, Mike. The perspective is very interesting. I like the muted colors with just touches of brights.

I love this. That exaggerated perspective gives it a real feeling of movement and power. Great brushwork too. Wow!

Congrats on the 100th post Mike! And you are so right about the small size of the paintings and frequency letting you feel like you can experiment. I love the cool perspective on this one too and love seeing all of your work!

This is such an awesome composition and it makes such an interesting painting. You are so right about how motivating doing the dailies becomes when it's not a risk to try out something new.
