"Lime Wedges with Knife"

More fun with thick paint! I went and saw the Van Gogh and Gauguin show at the De Young about a month ago . I had only seen Van Gogh in print and it was inspiring to see his work in person. I must confess it made me feel that my approach to painting was somewhat careful and cautious. Since then I've been trying to let go a bit more. Let go.... but still try to keep the drawing somewhat accurate. It can be a tough balance.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Really like what you are doing. Fun composition, color and brushwork. I guess we could call those the "big 3". I like the thick paint you are beginning to use. I think it adds a ton of interest.

Very nice and great job on the knife. I have trouble with shiny things and you got this right on.
